Housing Industries Call For More Time With Harmonising Oh&S Laws
The Housing Industry Association and Master Builders Australia are calling on the Government to postpone the coming OH&S laws to six months, after concerns there won't be enough room to digest the changes, as reported in Smart Company.
Both industries support the deferral of the legislation coming into effect next year, but believe there should be more time for businesses to adapt to the changes.
Housing Industry Association manager Graham Wolfe argues there should be a suspension until the regulation is subject to a cost-benefit analysis.
The Federal Government says the uniform national health and safety reforms will deliver up to $2 billion a year in productivity gains.
