SafeWork SA releases Safe Work Month 2009 programme
SafeWork SA has announced the programme of events for the state’s Safe Work Month 2009.
Safe Work Month 2009 will stage more than 250 events across SA, from 4 to 30 October 2009.
The Month will begin at the Loxton Show during the October long weekend and conclude in Adelaide with the presentation of the Safe Work Awards.
During the first three weeks, free workshops will be staged in all of the state’s major regional centres, before the final week in metropolitan Adelaide, coinciding with Safe Work Australia Week from 25t to 31 October.
The workshops will cover a range of topics, from aquaculture and accident investigation to wine tank safety and work life balance. They will throw a spotlight on priority risks and industries, or occupations where the incidence of injury is particularly high.
Other highlights include a mock Industrial Court trial, the first annual OHSW Research Forum, a presentation of the SA Construction Industry Report Card: 2009, a Health & Safety Representatives Network Meeting, the SA Unions HSR Conference, and a showcase of injury prevention by SA Health.
